About the author
Mfundo Radebe is an incoming Consultant at Bain & Company in New York, where he will work across the Private Equity Group, Financial Services, and AI & Insights practices.
He studied at Harvard University, earning an AB in Economics. While at Harvard, he conducted research on firm strategy and financial services at Harvard Business School and applied machine learning to macroeconomic research and investment decision-making at Bridgewater Associates’ AI Labs.
Mfundo joined Bain & Company, where he worked on commercial due diligence and value creation projects for private equity funds. He then moved into an operating role at Moment, a General Catalyst-incubated payments company operating across London and Johannesburg, where he led strategy and data analytics and built the firm’s first product analytics infrastructure.
Mfundo later pursued an MBA in Finance and Business Economics at Columbia Business School. During his MBA, he served as a researcher and led the transformation of the core MBA economics curriculum into an AI-powered delivery platform. He also worked as a Data Engineering Lead at Goodword, building analytics systems and applied AI tools.
He founded The AI Strategist to apply the tools he uses in consulting and investing to a broader set of strategic problems, making that work open, reproducible, and practically useful.
The AI Strategist launched with The End of Intuition-Led Strategy, a foundational essay on why strategy is moving from intuition to models.
